Sharing a phone? Check how an appointment request will reach you.

Before you send an appointment request, check the phone number and email address you plan to use. Can you receive a reply there comfortably? If someone else uses the device or account, a message meant for you may not stay private.

Think about the reply, not only the form

Care Net sends a confirmation to the email address on an appointment request. The confirmation omits your service selections and optional message, but it is still an email someone with inbox access could see. ^[1]

Ask the team what happens after you get in touch. Questions might include:

• What name or number might appear when you call me?
• Can you leave a voicemail, and what would it say?
• Can we discuss a time or contact method that works for me?
• Does an online request send an automatic email?

These are things to confirm with staff. A note in an optional message is not proof that a particular contact restriction has been accepted or that an automatic confirmation will be suppressed.

Look beyond the phone in your hand

Messages and activity can also be visible through shared accounts or other connected devices. ^[2] Think about who has access before assuming a new browser window or a different app is private.

Private or incognito browsing does not guarantee that your internet activity cannot be seen. ^[3] If you think someone is monitoring you, consider a device they cannot access and ask a safety advocate about a plan. Sudden account or device changes can sometimes increase danger. ^[4]

Website choices are a separate question

Care Net's optional Analytics and Marketing choices do not control whether you can request an appointment or call. ^[1] Declining optional measurement does not make a submitted request anonymous or remove emails and call records outside the website.

You can ask about privacy before sending a form. Leave private medical details out of its optional message. If the available contact methods do not feel safe, ask staff about another way to reach them rather than entering someone else's details without permission.
